Silica Coated Silver Nanowires

10 g of 20 micron long silver nanowires were coated with a thin silica shell, and transferred into water at a concentration of 5 mg/mL.  Silica coated silver nanowires can also be provided as a redispersible dried powder.

150 nm Silica Coated Silver Nanospheres

150 nm BioPure silver nanospheres were fabricated, processed, and coated with thin silica shells. Extensive TEM characterization demonstrated that these custom silver nanospheres had CVs of < 8%. While our standard high quality silver nanospheres are available in sizes ranging from 10-100 nm, we routinely fabricate nanospheres with diameters between 4-10 nm and 100-200 nm on a custom basis.

Silver Nanospheres with Thin Silica Shells

5 g batches of 30 nm, 40 nm, and 50 nm BioPure silver nanospheres were coated with 8 nm thick silica shells.  Silver nanospheres with diameters between 30 - 200 nm can be shelled with silica shells as thin as 8 nm and as thick as 100 nm.

High Optical Density Solutions of Plasmonic Silver Nanoplates

Plasmonic nanoparticle formulations including silver nanospheres, gold nanospheres, and silver nanoplates, can be concentrated to provide solutions with optical densities of greater than 1000 OD/cm. Here, silica coated silver nanoplates were concentrated to provide a high optical density solution designed to interact with a near-infrared laser.

Gold Nanoparticles Provided in Toluene

500 mg of gold nanoparticles were fabricated, capped with oleyl amine, and transferred into toluene.  These nanoparticles exhibit long term stability in both chloroform and toluene, and are ideal for applications which require organic solvents. 

Positively Charged Gold Nanospheres

Gold nanoparticles coated with branched poly(ethylene imine) (BPEI) were fabricated at the 500 mg scale.  The nanoparticles were characterized and found to have a zeta potential of +31 mV.

Gold Nanopills

Pill-shaped gold nanoparticles were fabricated at a scale of 300 mg.  These gold nanopills have aspect ratios (length:width) of 1.5-2, and support surface plasmon resonances in the 550 - 575 nm spectral range.

Silica Nanospheres

Monodisperse silica nanospheres with diameters ranging from 100 nm to 1 micron can be fabricated at scales of up to 1 kilogram.  Silica nanospheres are available with standard, amine, and sulfhydryl surfaces.

Magnetite Nanoparticles

500 g of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were fabricated in an aqueous solution and capped with tetramethyl amine. TEM imaging and size analysis demonstrated that the meannanoparticle diameter was 5.4 nm +/- 0.6 nm, corresponding to a CV of 11%.

Copper Nanospheres

Copper nanospheres were fabricated, capped with PVP, processed to remove residual reactants, and provided as an aqueous solution at a concentration of 5 mg/mL.  Copper nanospheres can also be provided as a redispersible dried powder.

Silica Coated Cobalt Nanoparticles

10 nm cobalt nanoparticles were fabricated in solution, processed to remove residual reactants, and coated with thin silica shells.  These nanoparticles are also available with citrate surfaces.

Platinum Nanoparticles

Platinum nanoparticles with sizes ranging from 30 - 200 nm and CVs of <15% were fabricated at the 500 mg scale.

TiO2 Nanorods

Titania (TiO2) nanorods were fabricated using a hydrothermal synthesis technique.  Rods were fabricated as two sizes: 30 nm x 10 nm, and 40 nm x 15 nm.

Custom Conjugation Services

Gold nanoparticles Covalently Functionalized With a Cell Binding Protein

100 nm gold nanoparticles were covalently functionalized to a cell binding protein.  Gold and silver nanoparticles of all sizes can be covalently functionalized with proteins using a wide variety of conjugation chemistries.

Gold and Silver Nanosphere-oligonucleotide Conjugates

Gold and silver nanospheres were conjugated to synthetic oligonucleotides with lengths ranging from 10 to 80 bases.
