nanoComposix specializes in the fabrication of multi-component nanoparticles that are tailored for specific applications. Specific sizes, concentrations, and surface functionalizations are available upon request. BASE PARTICLE PRODUCTS SRX Silver Rods Product: Crystalline silver rods with length:width aspect ratios as large as 1000. Description: Nanorods with average diameters that range from 40 - 200 nm and average lengths range from 3 - 100 microns are fabricated at high purity. The as produced particles are soluble in polar liquids. Surface functionalized rods for dispersion in non-polar solvents are available. PSG Ultrasmall gold colloid Product: Phosphonium stabilized gold particles with average diameters of 1 - 6 nm. Description: Stanadard preparations are at a concentration of 1.0 mM (gold ion concentration). Stable, highly concentrated solutions (>100 mM) are available. GSG Monodisperse gold colloid Product: Monodisperse gold colloid (<15% CV) with diameters of 5 - 500 nm. Description: Standard stock solutions are produced at 10X typical gold colloid concentration (2.5 mM gold ion concentration) making these particle an economical choice for applications requiring larger quantities of colloid. SSG Monodisperse silver colloid Product: Monodisperse silver colloid (<15% CV) with diameters of 10 - 500 nm. Description: Standard stock solutions are produced at 10X typical silver colloid concentration (2.50 mM silver ion concentration). Concentrations up to 1000X typical silver colloid concentrations are available. MMC Montmorillonite flake material Product: Water soluble flake material with diameters of ~1 micron and a thicknesses of ~1 nm. Description: The planar geometry of these particles can be utilized as a high surface area substrate with a large aspect ratio. Positively and negatively charged flake materials are available. SSC Silica colloidal particles Product: Monodisperse silica particles are available in diameters that range from 10 - 200 nm. Description: Silica particles with a wide variety of custom functionalizations are available. COMPOSITE PARTICLE TECHNIQUES Surface Metal Particle Seeding The attachment of small particles to larger colloidal substrates can serve to increase surface area, to produce catalytic surfaces, or serve as a base for subsequent metalization. Typically, 2 nm diameter PSG gold colloid is bound at a high coverage density to spherical, rod, and flake templates. Metal Particle Coatings A wide variety of nanoparticles can be coated with a continuous layer of metal (eg. silver, gold, nickel). Magnetic Functionalization Attachment of magnetic particles to the surface of substrate particles allows for subsequent magnetic separation. Fluorescent Functionalization Attachment of fluorescent particle or fluorescent layers to the exterior of particles allows for fluorescent visualization and detection. Silica Functionalization Encapsulation of particles with a silica layers 1 - 100 nm in thickness provide a well defined surface chemical state for subsequent functionalization. A wide variety of surface functional groups can be incorporated into the silane layer to tailor the reactivity and charge of the ensapsulated particle. Biofunctionalization of Surfaces: Antibodies, DNA, and proteins can be covalently attached to the surfaces of particles. |
