Custom Silver Nanoparticles
Custom Silver nanoparticle formulations are also available from nanoComposix. Silver formulations can be provided at concentrations as high as 10 mg/mL upon special order. The silver nanoparticle can be produced with a negative or positive surface charge, functionalized with biomolecules, coated with polymers, shelled with silica, and many more custom formulations. Particles can also be transferred to other solvents or buffers to suit your needs. Surface Charge
Spherical silver from nanoComposix, whether NanoXact or BioPure, will have a negative surface charge on the particles. This allows functionalization with positively charged compounds or molecules. In order to functionalize the silver nanoparticles with negative species or coat the particles on negative surfaces the surface charge needs to be changed or 'flipped'. At nanoComposix we can custom engineer silver nanoparticles to function properly in your system whether it is biological and pharmaceutical or materials applications for SERS or photonics.
Silica Coating
Surfaces of nanomaterials are of utmost importance, secondary only to size and shape quality of nanoparticles. With outstanding size and shape purity, our NanoXact silver is ideal for integration into many applications. For some systems, the silver nanoparticles need a different chemical 'handle'. At nanoComposix we can create a silica (SiO2) surface from sub-nanometer to hundreds of nanometers thick. This silica layer is amenable to a range of different chemistries allowing for a chemical bond to be formed to almost any surface moeity you can imagine. Other silica coated formulations based on other nanomaterials are also available.
