Post How do I know if particles are stable or have changed?
We often get questions about the stability of nanoparticles and how long they are good. We recommend measuring the UV-Visible spectrum and saving the data when you first receive the formulation. This will provide you with a baseline measurement to determine if the formulation has changed over time. For small silvers and BioPure (or other concentrated formulations) also don't forget to record the concentration or factor of dilution for your sample.

With proper handling and care our formulations should be stable well beyond 6 months. But contaminants (ex-dirty pipette tip), exposure to extremes (heat, cold, light exposure), and other events may change the particles. For optimal performance it is necessary to confirm that you still have high quality nanomaterials whether your experiment is this week, next month, or next year. Having a baseline measurement to compare to will allow you to use our nanoparticles with confidence.
